Description

The Centre for Environmental Data and Recording (CEDaR) is the Local Records Centre (LRC) for Northern Ireland and supports biological recording through working in partnerships with numerous individuals and organisations. It collects, stores, manages and releases information on the wildlife of Northern Ireland and its coastal waters. It also manages a number of recording initiatives, such as species surveys, websites and training courses.

CEDaR aims to ensure that fit-for-purpose biological records are available for education, research, monitoring, nature conservation, planning, policy and commercial enquiries.

Established at the Ulster Museum in January 1995, CEDaR is a partnership between Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA), National Museums Northern Ireland (NMNI) and the local biological recording community.

   Marine species records from marine surveys carried out by (or for) the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI). 2. CEDaR Dragonflies of Ireland
   Species records collected through Dragonfly surveys and commissioned work, using various methodology and sampling techniques appropriate to this particular taxon groups and for the purpose of ascertaining the status and distribution of species throughout the island of Ireland.

   Species records collected through Lichen surveys and commissioned work, using various methodology and sampling techniques appropriate to this particular taxon groups and for the purpose of ascertaining the status and distribution of species throughout the island of Ireland.

   These are the records that have been collated through the CEDaR Online Recording forms. Records have been contributed by a number of individuals, for several species groups and have been verified through a network of local and national experts using iRecord.

8. Collated IRTU Freshwater Surveys
   Species records collected through Water Management Unit, NIEA surveys and commissioned work, using various methodology and sampling techniques appropriate to particular taxon groups and for the purpose of ascertaining the status and distribution of species Northern Ireland.

10. Copeland Island Bird Observatory SeaWatch Survey

14. Invasive Species and Pests
    All Non Native Invasive Species with a few pest species added. These additional species have been identified by some local experts. This dataset is not intended to include an exhaustive list of all 'pest' species.
