Scottish Wildlife Trust
Description
Working towards a network of healthy, resilient ecosystems supporting expanding communities of native species across Scotland.
Scottish Wildlife Trust manages a network of over 100 wildlife reserves covering some 17,000 hectares, spread across Scotland and ranging from remote islands to disused railways. They include a small city centre garden, herb-rich meadows, raised bogs, native woods, sea-cliffs, inter-tidal mud flats, and a mountain top. Threatened species which find a refuge there include: red squirrel, water vole, roseate tern and freshwater pearl mussel.
We are funded through a variety of different means but our main source is the 40,000+ membership subscriptions. We benefit from over 100 dedicated staff and an army of 700 volunteers who are indispensable in our efforts to protect Scotland's wildlife.
