Scottish Wildlife Trust

Description

Working towards a network of healthy, resilient ecosystems supporting expanding communities of native species across Scotland.

Scottish Wildlife Trust manages around 120 reserves covering some 20,000 hectares, spread across Scotland and ranging from remote islands to disused railways. They include a small city centre garden, herb-rich meadows, raised bogs, native woods, sea-cliffs, inter-tidal mud flats, and a mountain top. Threatened species which find a refuge there include: red squirrel, water vole, roseate tern and freshwater pearl mussel.

We are funded through a variety of different means but our main source is the 40,000+ membership subscriptions. We benefit from over 100 dedicated staff and an army of 700 volunteers who are indispensable in our efforts to protect Scotland's wildlife.
