Bird records from the Sheffield Bird Study Group area (Yorkshire records)

Geographic Description

Records are from those areas of South Yorkshire that fall within the Sheffield Bird Study Group area [twelve 10km squares; from SK17(SW) to SK49(NE)].

The precision of the records varies with the source but is largely 1km or better.

Data quality

Data are mainly anecdotal and should not be regarded as having comprehensive geographic or taxonomic coverage. All records have been assessed for species identification and, where appropriate, submitted for National/County assessment.

Methods

Mainly anecdotal records from local bird watchers supplemented by some dedicated surveys.
