iRecord Surveys

Natural England

Description

This dataset contains Natural England survey records transferred from iRecord. It is regularly updated to reflect additional data entry to iRecord and updates to record Verification Status information. Survey data may originate from projects, contracts, donated data, staff survey activities, or other sources, and may include coastal data as well as terrestrial.

Survey records provided by the Natural England Field Unit can be identified by Survey Reference Code = "NEFU".

iRecord data from a variety of historical and current Natural England surveys will be compiled into this dataset.

Geographic Description

England, including coastal areas. Data originating from Area Teams are likely to be concentrated within our Ecological Focus Areas and protected sites, but not exclusively.

Data quality

Validation on input to iRecord; records are available to online verifiers within iRecord to check. Records in this dataset will therefore carry a variety of Verification Status values, depending on the extent of verification carried out within iRecord.

Methods

See individual survey information where available on our Access to Evidence Catalogue at http://publications.naturalengland.org.uk/
