Red List GB post 2001 - Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct)
Description
Reporting category: Red listing based on 2001 IUCN guidelines
Designation: Critically Endangered (possibly extinct)
Designation description:A taxon is Critically Endangered when the best available evidence indicates that it meets any of the criteria A to E for Critically Endangered (see Section V), and it is therefore considered to be facing an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild. Possibly extinct indicates that there is a small chance that the taxon may still be extant, and hence should not be listed as Extinct until local or unconfirmed reports have been discounted, and adequate surveys have failed to find any individuals.
