Invertebrate Survey of Selected East Ross Lochs, Streams and Rivers, 1986/87

Description
The lochs and rivers surveyed are only a small fraction of those present; but, they reflect the different types of water body found within the area. East Ross has a geology dominated by Old Red Sandstones which is reflected by moderately chemically rich lochs and rivers with correspondingly varied and diverse invertebrate faunas. As only a few lochs and rivers were surveyed no gradings on a conservation basis have been given.

Data quality
Sandra Hogg, freshwater invertebrate specialist, was employed to carry out the work. Some specimens were identified only to genus/group.
