North East Scotland Biological Records Centre

Description

Leisler's and Nathusius's pipistrelle bat records records held at North-East Scotland Biological Records Centre - mostly from bat detector recordings.

Geographic Description

Records compiled from North-East Scotland (administrative areas of Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Moray and Cairngorms National Park). Records collected at a variety of spatial scales ranging from 6 to 10 figure grid references.

Purpose

Casual recording. The majority of records are from static bat detectors. Species ID manually verified and data submitted by volunteer recorders mainly NE Scotland Bat group members.

Data quality

These species have been verified by local and national experts. Good confidence in data validity. Data validated and processed by NESBReC.

Methods

Miscellaneous recording methods; mostly using passive bat recording equipment in zero crossing or full spectrum.
