Wild boar culled on the National Forest Estate Scotland in 2015-16
Records of wild boar/feral pig culled on Forest Enterprise Scotland (FES) land in Scotland during 2015-16 have been uploaded on behalf of Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS), a non-ministerial government department responsible for managing the National Forest Estate through FES.
The records cover the National Forest Estate in mainland Scotland
Records of sightings are kept to establish the distribution, population and impacts of wild boar/feral pig in Scotland.
Records are of animals shot by experienced FES staff or their agents, so there is a very high degree of confidence in the data.
Annual cull returns for deer and wild boar/feral pig on FES land are maintained by each Forest District, and are compiled into a national spreadsheet.
